Course Objectives
By the end of this course, you should be able to:
• Install Wise Package Studio and its client.
• Apply the fundamentals of Microsoft Windows
Installer technology to your installation.
• Describe the elements of a good component design.
• Identify and resolve user profile-related ICE errors.
• Create installations that use custom actions.
• Create a Software Virtualization Solution package.
• Apply security permissions to an .MSI using various
methods.
• Import files into the Software Manage database.
• Create packages that support Windows Vista.
• View, display, filter, detect, and resolve conflicts in a
package.
Prerequisites
You should have a basic understanding and working
knowledge of Microsoft® Windows operating systems;
use Wise Package Studio regularly; and have attended
the Altiris Repackaging with Wise Package Studio 7.0
instructor-led training course.
